At Manor Wood Primary School, our vision is rooted in the belief that every disadvantaged child should fulfil their potential and lead a happy, healthy life. Underpinned by our motto, "Every child matters; every moment counts", we hold a fundamental commitment to ensuring all children thrive, regardless of their background.
To outline how we plan to support our pupils, we have published our Pupil Premium Strategy below. This document details our overarching strategy for utilising our funding to maximise the achievement of disadvantaged children. Our approach aligns directly with the DfE's tiered approach: prioritising high-quality teaching, targeted academic support, and wider strategies.
By reading the full strategy statement, you can learn more about the specific challenges we have identified and how we plan to address them. Key areas of focus include:
Providing vital Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support to foster resilience and positive learning behaviours.
Addressing early 'school readiness' for children entering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Delivering targeted support to improve early reading and phonics, particularly for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) needs.
Implementing strategies to tackle underlying causes of absence and improve punctuality, including support for Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
Subsidising costs for enrichment such as; visits, visitors, residentials and musical instrument tuition to enrich cultural capital and raise educational aspirations.
We invite you to download and read our strategy to understand how we are actively working to close the attainment gap and provide a rich, equitable educational experience for all our pupils.
