Noctua Teaching School Alliance
Manor Wood Primary School is a founder member of Noctua Teaching School Alliance.
Teaching schools are good and outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system. By March 2016, the National College for Teaching and Leadership aims to have recruited a network of 600 teaching schools making significant improvements in the quality of teaching, leadership and pupil attainment.
Formed in 2013-14, our alliance is currently made up of six schools: one lead school which has the official teaching school status and six other strategic partners, four of whom are co-founders of the alliance:
Moortown Primary School
Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School
Shakespeare Primary School
Beeston Primary School
Park Spring Primary School
Other partners include other schools, Leeds local authority and Educate Teacher Training. We work closely with other alliances to share knowledge and resources as a teaching school network.
Currently we are taking a lead role, with the Local Authority, in:
Support for new Headteachers
Support to newly qualified teachers (NQTs)
Support for schools in challenging circumstances
