    Logan

I’m into piano at the moment – this is my special interest. Mr Borsak taught me my first song and he was surprised at how quickly I picked it up. I now know at least ten.

I’m a good friend; kind and honest.

I believe that my brain works a bit differently – I identify with traits of autism. My brain is very busy; I find it hard to focus on the lesson – many other thoughts tend to drift into my brain. I can pick up some bits of the lesson and then I’ll stubble on basic words (wondering what they mean).

When I used to find school tricky, I would opt out. Now, I am in all of my lessons…not really sure how I’ve overcome this! This happens, I usually find something overwhelming / bad and then it’s ok after a while.

The think that makes my brain hurt the most is maths. I’ll tried really hard and finally get an answer and then I’ve not read the question right! I can manage a few more questions and then I feel too angry and need a break.

Even when I’m dysregulated, I give off a clam aura. I’ve always being able to talk through any difficulties with familiar staff and to try different ways of learning.

    I’m horrified of dogs!

Struggling with my short-term memory – I forget everyday things easily.

As a ND ambassador I think I can help others who are finding school different. I would also like to create a room with a bunch of instruments to experiment with at playtime. We also need another proper piano – we need peddles for most of the songs I know. I’d like to be involved in surveys to get the views of everyone around school.
