Local Governing Board: Co-Opted Governor Opportunity

Manor Wood Primary School has a vacancy for a co-opted Governor on the Local Governing Board. School Governors on Local Governing Boards make a valuable contribution to children's education, opportunities and futures. Volunteering as a Governor is a meaningful way to be involved with the community and also to develop your own strategic skills. 

There are no specific requirements to become a school Governor. Manor Wood Primary School is currently seeking Governors who can offer skills in the areas of marketing/PR, and HR and law – although all expressions of interest are welcome.

Governors are appointed on a 4-year term and appointments can be renewed for as long as the individual remains eligible. The Local Governing Board meets four times per academic year, usually after the working day. LGB meetings are focused on current developments in school, monitoring and analysis of data, and future planning. We aim to foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere during meetings where any and all contributions are welcome.
