When children start school it is often the first time they form relationships outside of their families and learn to interact with their peers. As the children have settled into their everyday life in Orange Group, we have observed relationships grow and flourish.
Learning to form social bonds is a vital part of the school experience. We find that the children demonstrate their friendships in everything they do. We observe the children when they are most active and how they share these experiences with each other, communicating through their voices and large movements, mirrored in their facial expressions. In direct contrast, we also note the moments when the children are still and quiet together, highlighting their friendships just as beautifully. Sometimes just being near each other provides the security and love we all desire.
