Hello, we are the teaching and learning team for Year 6.

Year 6 is an extremely important year for the children as it is their final year in primary school before they move on to the next stage of their educational careers; High School!

The biggest difference for children in Year 6 is that they will all take their first formal exams; the SAT's.  It can feel like a very intensive year as children revise and practise hard.  If children can remain focused, take the advice of staff and work hard at home they are rewarded by positive results. When the exams season is over all thoughts turn to high school, say goodbye properly and moving on.

Throughout the year children really enjoy studying:

  • Journalistic writing and arguments in literacy lessons.
  • Learning about apps and designing their own using laptops and tablets.
  • The study of prehistoric history and World War Two.
  • Sex and Relationship Education (SRE).
