Reading in Year 6
In year 6 we have been focusing on The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas which links in with our World War Two History Topic.
We also look at Poems from the Second World War. In particular those of Alun Lewis, Elizabeth Jennings and Roy Fuller. We analyse the poems and then have a go at writing our own in a similar style. We also use the poetry in dance as a stimulus for movement.
We also looked at Stanley Holloway's Monologues -
The Lion and Albert and Sam and Sam pick up thy Musket.
